Second Preview: Balloon Fight (NES)

Ballon Fight (NES)

Coming from Nintendo of America, Balloon Fight is an arcade style action game. The game play can be easily compared to the arcade title Joust from Atari. The goal is to take out all enemies (or gremlins) and avoid all environmental hazards.

Paying homage to the legendary Joust.

Like Joust, enemies have to be attacked from above. The environmental hazards include lightning, sharks, and water (Drowning). The levels in Balloon Fight will get progressively harder and will contain more enemies.

Bonus stages toss a mess of balloons your way. Can you keep up??

The score system is fairly standard and is no different from any other arcade title. Graphics are not the focal point of Balloon Fight, so the game will look a bit on the simple side.

  1. Willy105 Says:

    Simple graphics?

It’s all about style. Ballon Fight looks great in motion, unlike some other NES games out there.

  2. Yeah it does flow well. I think the simple graphical style tend to exsentuate the animations as well as the sprite scrolling.
